Experiments in Flow Art, Part 3 (Video)

For the final installment in this series, I decided to try a variant of the puddle pour. I had gotten myself all set up (soup cans, step stool, and all) in the breakfast nook when I realized it was waaaay too sunny that day to shoot there. So I hustled myself over to the dining room, feeling deeply grateful for another spot in house that works for shooting a video.

No joke, I seriously laid in bed for 2 1/2 hours thinking about making this painting and couldn’t fall back asleep. I tried all my usual tricks for turning off my brain, but the power of pink was just too strong. And for good reason – the result is 100% worth it. On a whim, I took a toothpick and swirled it randomly through the paint. I had no idea how that would affect the finished result, but I like how it kind of looks like pink flames. This was far from my last video. As it turns out, some people really enjoy watching someone play with paint. You can check out my YouTube channel here if you enjoy this kind of video.

I ended up just calling it “Pink!” If I were a single lady, I would totally pink out my house, but out of respect for my Bear, I’ll relegate my pink obsession to art made for other people’s homes.
